Heads up, Missouri! SHORT NOTICE
Ahh, Missouri. Our friendly neighbor to the south. How I enjoyed attending college in Fulton, skipping over to the Blue Note in Columbia, and hanging out late at night at the infamous diner, The Spot. I miss ya’ baby, and I’m proud.
It’s not too often you see Republicans railing on about the benefits of hybrids, or benefits for eco-friendly consumers but for the THIRD TIME RUNNING, state rep. David Sater is asking the Missouri legislators to provide consumers with a tax credit of $2000, or 10% of the cost of their new hybrid vehicle — obviously shooting for whichever is less. :) Politics hasn’t changed that much, sweetie.
This comes at a great time because federal tax credits are beginning to phase out. If you didn’t take possession of your new Toyota or Lexus hybrid, for instance, before October of 2007, you’re out of luck.
So, now the question is, what can we do to make the third time the charm? Sitting around hoping it happens isn’t getting the job done. People need to get involved.
The bill - HB 1326 - will be discussed in committee on March 3rd. Please consider writing the members of the committee to offer your support! You can find the information you need to do that here.
In fact, because it’s so short notice, you might want to call, and while you’re at it, you can contact other reps in the House and ask them to support it as well.
