Electro Metro/Swift/Firefly - in electric blue!

I know the back of the car says Geo Swift, but trust me. It’s a Metro. O a Firefly. I would know that car anywhere. It is the same model (and color) as my first auto, the Blueberry, and (as an electric conversion … costing under $1000!) is aptly named, The Forkenswift.

A word on EV safety

It’s important to distinguish between electric vehicles and electric cars when considering safety features. Just because something passes federal safety standards doesn’t mean it’s passed safety standards for traditional cars. Just as importantly, being “all electric” doesn’t mean it falls below those standards either.

Econ Mode allows the engine to run more efficiently by pushing the engine less. It addresses the biggest hits to fuel economy - stomping on the gas and needlessly wasting fuel by accelerating more ferociously than need be - and in doing so, will make a real difference in the miles per gallon seen in real world usage.

Canada approves electric car - Go ZENN!

Transport Canada has given the ZENN the National Safety Mark. This means they meet Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and that individual provinces can finally decide whether they can be used on public roads.
